NBA Cares has been facilitating and following player involvement in local communities for years. The New Orleans Pelicans' Demarcus Cousins, most known for being a tough guy and a hard personality on the court, dedicated much of his summer to giving back to the community. Cousins has focused on giving back to the communities that have helped impacted him the most. He donated funds to build a state of the art basketball court in his hometown of Mobile, Alabama. He also hosted multiple free basketball camps for 300+ children in Sacramento, the city Cousins is most known for playing for. Cousins participated in the NBA Africa Game over the summer and was a key contributor to Basketball Without Boarders, an organization dedicated to spreading the joy of basketball around the world. Cousins has been awarded the NBA Cares Community Assist Award for his actions. It is always a joy to see athletes use their sports as a way to spread joy in local communities.

How long until SnapChat takes over the world of SMM? Snap has the potential to continue to transform user expectations. In the last few months they have added more live content including news stories and a friend-locator. Snap’s new friend-locator allows for you to see where your friends are in real time, making it much easier to find friends in your area. It also allows for you to message friends from the locator and create groups with people nearby. Snap’s new subscription news format allows for the user to subscribe to different channels such as ESPN, vice, or Food Network. Every channel has new daily content giving the user a one-stop shop for all sorts of media and marketing. SnapChat’s evolution will advance opportunities for social media marketing as it becomes more of a one-stop-shop for users.

Hello! My name is Nick Geoppo and I’m studying Human Resources, Marketing, and Public Relations at Gonzaga University! This blog is for a social media marketing class. I am the President of Theta Chi Fraternity, Bring the People Lead for Zags Against Cancer, and Events Coordinator for the Society for Human Resource Management. My goal is to graduate in May and land a job as a marketing manager for Crowd Management Services. I have been working for the company for about 5 months. It is our goal to deliver customized guest services, crowd management, and security solutions with an emphasis on prevention for events of all sizes.
